A prison which no creature has ever escaped from and only the worst are kept.
The story goes that the Ilium was once just a regular prison for the dangerous war-criminals of Praag but one day fate decided that it would become much more. The whole land-mass was lifted from the rock and it became a fated location.
“I am the mouth that swallows the wicked. Trapped as you have trapped, suffer as you have caused suffering. I will see you confess.”
The Ilium began to wonder over the world, sweeping over the land-mass of Ignos with a slow patient flight. Once the new floating prison’s fate was read it immediately went into use; the most dangerous fated, those who could not be killed, hurt or were simply impossible to keep anywhere else were put into the Ilium and it held them. The evil began to fear the places name and a sect of powerful evil overlords decided they would destroy the Ilium and be rid of it’s shadow over them for all time, and perhaps gain new and powerful henchmen at the same moment. Their attack was a disaster. The prison’s fate summoned guardians that had never before been seen to crush the siege and in the hour after the massive attack began, all lay quite and dead. Since that day the Ilium has remained a tool of the light to keep the darkness locked away. Few besides the fated jailers ever visit the location directly and what is inside remains a mystery to even the most learned of the world.
