Sumzal, The Sun Wing
The dragon of hope, Sumzal carries the sun across the sky during the day and during the night loves to enjoy his free time with merrymaking, drinking and playing tricks in the form of a mortal. He is the dragon of the sun, trickery, and life.
Sumzal is unique among the world dragons for his natural affinity with the mortal races. At night after his duty of passing the sun overhead is complete, he lands somewhere in the world, preferably somewhere he has not been in a while and shape-shifts into a form that will be accepted by the locals. He then proceeds to go to the nearest tavern or like-building to drink and tell stories. It is always said by the mortals who have no idea they are drinking with Sumzal that he made their night special. His stories bring riotous laughter or tears. His songs are heartfelt, and his contests surprise and create memories that last a lifetime. When asked, Sumzal would say he just does what his heart tells him, sometimes without thinking. If he has a true fault, Sumzal does not know when he crosses the line. Stealing a warriors precious sword because he cares for a object too much, or making a king look a fool for being too haughty are mistakes Sumzal makes over and over again. More then once the night has ended with him in the stocks or prison; even preparing to be executed. But when the sun needs coaxing, he rises once again as a dragon, vanishing from sight inexplicably while the local guards wonder how this regular man managed to escape.
Sumzal would rather run and disappear then fight, but when cornered he lashed out with the dexterity of a snake and wrestles his opponents into submission or death. In person Sumzal is much like an excellent bard, but he does far better with crowds then a single person.
